HARRIS COUNTY UNDERGROUND FIRE LIINE PLAN SUBMITTAL CHECKLIST

  • Name of owner and/or occupant per Harris County permit
  • Location, including correct street address (HC permit & plan addresses must match)
  • Name, address, and phone number of the installing company
  • Drawings/site plan must be stamped by a RME – G or D or a Texas Licensed Registered Engineer.

When the receipt of the fire marshal’s email of approval has been received for the pre-inspection documents to request the fire inspection, complete the inspection request form entering the required information and submit to Fire Inspection Form

Make sure you are selecting the correct application type in order to avoid any unexpected delays!  You could be using the Fire Protection application.

Underground Fire Line

This will be a deferred plan submittal. All dedicated Underground Fire Line installs must be submitted for Fire Protection review with Harris County Engineering Department.

Underground Fire Line review and approval required before above ground system review can begin.

An underground fire line is the start of any fire protection system. The piping will come from private or municipal water supply to the fire sprinkler riser or other sprinkler apparatus such as a remote fire department connections, fire pump and tanks, etc.

After Approval

After approval, you can pay fees online from your ePermits account.Once fees are paid you can download the approved plans and print out a paper copy of the permit.Please post the permit fully visible on project site and have a paper copy of the approved plans onsite during construction.
