Harris County strives to provide thoughtful accommodations for the public in a variety of ways. The introduction of lactation pods for the utilization of mothers is a one example. These lactation pods are private, single-unit spaces that offer a peaceful environment for mothers visiting select locations such as the Law Library, Jury Assembly Plaza and Courthouse Complex. This investment serves as a highlight of the initiative by increasing the existing network of over 23 lactation spaces currently available to Harris County employees, further supporting the community's needs.

This initiative has been making strides as there have been many installations within 2024 itself:

May 2024: 3 ADA compliant pods were installed at The Civil Courthouse Pod, the Criminal Justice Court, and the Jury Assembly Plaza.

October 2024: 1 new ADA compliant pod was installed at the Robert W Hainsworth Law Library.

May 2025: 1 new ADA compliant pod was installed at the Juvenile Justice Center.
