HARRIS COUNTY FIXED EXTINGUISHER SYSTEM PLAN SUBMITTAL CHECKLIST

  • Name of owner and/or occupant per Harris County permit
  • Location, including correct street address (HC permit & plan addresses must match)
  • Name, address, and phone number of the installing company
  • Name, address, and phone number of PE or planner if different than installing company
  • Size, length, and arrangement of connected piping
  • Description and location of nozzles
  • Location and function of detection devices, operating devices, auxiliary equipment, and electrical
  • Indicated hazard to be protected and include such information as physical dimensions, cooking appliances, energy sources for each appliance, and air-handling equipment.
  • Hydraulic Calculations, for other than pre-engineered system

Online Electronic Plan Submittal – E-Permits

First time users will need to register for an account. 

Make sure you are selecting the correct application type in order to avoid any unexpected delays! 

Here are the steps for applying through E-Permits:

  1.  Access the E-Permits platform and log in
  2. Navigate to the "Projects" section
  3. Click on "Apply"
  4. Locate your address on the map by either entering it or zooming in and double-clicking on the location
  5. A "Red Pin" will appear on the map, and all associated data will be retrieved by E-Permits. If the address is incorrect, you can correct it on the next page
  6. Click on the green "Apply" button
  7. In the selection labeled "Application," choose "Speculative Lease Space"
  8. Provide the required detailed information and click on "Next"
  9. Complete the application page and click on "Next"
  10. Upload all the necessary documents, and once finished, click on "Next"
  11. Finally, review the disclaimer, select "Agree," and then click on "Submit Application"

To begin a swimming pool plan review, you will need to do the following:

  • In Floodplain
    • Complete a residential/swimming pool permit application
    • Submit a site plan
    • Submit a pool electric disconnect drawing
  • Outside the Floodplain
    • Submit site plan
    • Submit residential/swimming pool application

    Submit Plans

    Application and plans will be reviewed and processed. An application fee will be assigned to the project once the first review has been completed or the project is approved. The application fee, permit fee, and admin fee (if applicable) must be paid prior to downloading the approved plans or the reviewer’s comments.

    HARRIS COUNTY SMALL TENANT IMPROVEMENT PLAN SUBMITTAL CHECKLIST

    • Floor Plan – The floor plan should be neatly prepared, clearly legible, and include a fully detailed and dimensioned interior layout of the occupied floor plan, including room labels for all sections in which the tenant is occupying/proposing
    • Site Plan – The site plan should show the building, cross streets, and identify the lease space within the building
    • If a restaurant has an occupant load of 49 or less, provide an approved stamped floor plan from the Public Health Department (see link below)

    Complete all inspections through Development Inspections and then the Fire Marshal’s inspection may be requested.

    All inspections must be completed and passed prior to applying for the Certificate of Compliance, including the Fire Marshal’s inspection. The Fire Marshal’s inspection needs to be annotated as passed in E-Permits.To request any required inspections for Harris County, click on the following:

    8. Provide the required detailed information and click on "Next"

    11. Finally, review the disclaimer, select "Agree," and then click on "Submit Application"

    • Extending tower no less than 10 ft and replacing existing cabinets and antennas with new ones.

    What You Need To Know

    New Tower

    • Site plan of entire property showing proposed and existing plans
    • New development must go through commercial site development for commercial review concurrent with tower review
    • A 300-foot radius from the proposed tower and distance to the nearest boundary of the residential subdivision by a licensed surveyor
    • A copy of all recorded plats within a 300-foot radius and a copy of the deed of the nearest residential lot, if any
    • Cross section with a height of the tower
    • FAA and/or FCC approval(s)
    • Complete application (only for over-the-counter submittals
    • Floodplain information (if in the floodplain)


    Existing Tower

    • Engineering site plan showing proposed and existing plans
    • Engineering floodplain information (if in the floodplain)
    • If extending existing tower by 10 ft, new tower application required
