Household hazardous waste collection facilities are only allowed to accept items that were used by residents to maintain their home, yard, vehicles, tools, or equipment. This means items from businesses, non-profit organizations, schools, churches, and other entities not listed in the definition of a household in the Texas Administrative Code, cannot be accepted at this facility.
If your items fall into this category of non-household related waste, you will need to contact a hazardous waste disposal company that can provide information regarding properly disposing of your hazardous waste. This is still the regulation if the business is no longer in operation.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Small Business and Local Government Assistance Section has provided the following TCEQ publication regarding locating a hazardous waste company in your area that may assist you with these services.
You may download this publication by clicking HERE. Please go to Region 12, and then to Harris County to locate a vendor who can properly dispose of your Class 1 waste.
