Office of the County Engineer

Pre-recordation serves as the initial review stage for plat applications and preliminary plat documents.

During this crucial phase, both Harris County and the relevant governing municipalities carefully examine the submitted materials to ensure adherence to the applicable regulations and city ordinances governing the municipality's ETJ (Extraterritorial Jurisdiction). It is the responsibility of the applicant to diligently follow the current submittal procedures outlined by Harris County Platting and any governing municipality.

By doing so, they can compile all necessary documentation and effectively address any review comments before advancing to the subsequent Recordation stage. This collaborative process helps to ensure compliance and streamline the platting process for efficient and accurate results.
