The Office of the County Engineers Safety Division is a critical component dedicated to ensuring the well-being of employees, customers, and the public. With a primary focus on identifying and mitigating potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, and cultivating a culture of safety, the office plays a pivotal role in promoting & enforcing a safe and healthy work environment. In the unfortunate event of workplace accidents, vehicular accidents, or other safety-related incidents, the Health and Safety Managers are tasked with investigating the root causes to prevent their reoccurrence. This is accomplished through data assessments, witness interviews, and documentation to identify opportunities for improvement and prevent future incidents.
The office ensures all relevant safety regulations and standards are followed, ensuring that the organization remains compliant with all applicable laws and requirements. The office conducts regular worksite and facility Inspections and audits to assess compliance and address any areas of concern to uphold the highest safety standards. The Health and Safety Managers provide ongoing safety training and education for employees at all levels of the organization. This includes general safety awareness training, specialized training for specific job roles, and providing training for entry-level drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). The Health and Safety Manager develop and maintain comprehensive plans for responding to emergencies such as fires, chemical spills, natural disasters, and medical emergencies.
