Harris County Sheriff’s Office Academy Firearms Complex – Firearms Range Improvements

The Firearms Range at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Academy is utilized by numerous law enforcement agencies, both local and state, for mandated firearms training and annual qualifications.

To continue to provide and improve this essential service, Harris County will be making extensive enhancements. Firearms training ensures that our peace officers remain proficient in the use of necessary force and that this training is done in a safe manner.

Once all improvements and repairs have been completed, the Firearms Complex will include two fully covered gun ranges, an enhanced rifle range, and an expanded parking area to accommodate the high volume of peace officers undergoing firearms-related training.
