Response to Active Shooter - New Training Facility - New Construction - 2023

Harris County does not currently have a dedicated facility that allows for the training of Harris County and other law enforcement agencies responding to active shooter incidents.

Training allows officers to respond to active shooter situations, allowing them assess situation, assert control over an area, de-escalation strategies and reducing potential harm to the public. To that end, this new facility will provide officers with “best practice” training for active shooter incidents and other rapid response scenarios.

The project includes a simulation building that allows for scenario-based training, classrooms for instruction and a secured area to store ammunitions and weapons.

Location: 2346 Atascocita Rd.
Budget: $12,600,000
Project Status: Planning Completed In Pre-Design
