The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires that projects with federal permits or funding minimize potential environmental impacts. Generally, achieving this means evaluating several design alternatives and choosing the one that has the smallest negative impact on the natural or human environment while still achieving the project goal.
Environmental Services works with project managers and other agencies at the federal, state, and county level to design projects that are as environmentally friendly as possible. We also assist with documents that record what the anticipated project impacts will be and the steps we have taken to avoid and mitigate them. This helps projects move smoothly through the NEPA process and leads to the best possible project outcomes.
