The Vertical Design Team delivers design and project management for a diverse variety of project types and includes all disciplines typically involved with building design and construction. Project types include ground up construction, interior renovation, repairs, ADA upgrades, and facility assessments.

We handle traditional design, bid, build and design-build projects which are typically small to medium sized. Our client list includes all Harris County agencies who may come to the Office of the County Engineer (OCE) for assistance. The team also has a structural, electrical, and mechanical / plumbing engineer who serve as subject matter expert and reviewer for other departments within engineering and other county agencies.

Atascocita Branch Library

Included interior renovation to create much needed storage and an office space for the branch manager. A new video and fabrication lab was also added as part of the interior scope. An addition was also added to serve as a community room and polling place.

Baldwin Boettcher Library

Remediation and interior renovation of the library located in Mercer Park. Like the Visitor’s Center, it sustained damage from Hurricane Harvey.

Freeman Library

Interior renovation to an existing library which created a digital creators and fabrication lab.

Mercer Park Visitor’s Center

Remediation and renovation of the existing Mercer Park Visitor’s Center which sustained significant damage from Hurricane Harvey.

Riley Chambers Park Concession Stand

Riley Chambers Park Concession Stand – This was a design build project for a park located in PCT 3. It is air conditioned and contains rest rooms and a functional concession stand. The project was delivered in 7 months.
