The Design Services team provides Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Office of the County Engineer projects and other county agencies.

General responsibilities include:

• Preparing engineering reports, contract documents that include study, design, bid phase services
• Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) of the Design Services Group provide design reviews as needed across the Office of the County Engineer.
• Provide preliminary cost and schedules for pre-planning projects from Precincts as well as other county agencies.
• Provide support in writing grant applications.

Design Services supports the development and maintenance of the Harris County Standard Specifications for the Construction of Roads and Bridges, and Standard Drawings.
